In 1983, after 25 years in the petroleum industry as a tax manager of a major oil company, Dave Brennan organized Brennan Financial Services, a retirement focused firm. Dave decided to build a relationship based firm in Dallas because he quickly recognized that the most frequent complaint from investors was that many similar firms only called when they wanted to sell something to their clients.

The goal of BFS is to provide monthly income-generating investments* to clients who are retired or approaching retirement.

To achieve the goal of personalizing accounts, Dave was determined to handle his client accounts differently. He decided that a yearly review of their investments was necessary, to be sure that the retirement income was appropriate for the changing ages of clients and changing market conditions.

Dave’s desire to share his knowledge of investments and tax-saving strategies with individual investors and the community is fundamental to the BFS philosophy.

Since 1986, he has been the voice of the “financial airwaves” in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, hosting his live weekly call-in radio program, Dollars and Sense,on KGBS, KLIF, WBAP and most recently KSKY. Dave is joined weekly by one of his three children, to co-host the radio program.

In 2006, Dave and his children launched a live weekly call-in television program, Smart Money Live with the Brennans, which aired on WFAA-Channel 8 through 2007.

He is the author of the well-received book, Wishing Won't Do It: Financial Planning Will, which was published in 2008.
